Down Syndrome Awareness Month {Arlington, VA Photographer}

It's Down Syndrome Awareness Month, so my family participated in the Down Syndrome Buddy Walk for Northern VA this weekend.

My girls had a blast.

Ellie's highlights were petting and hugging a llama, then taking a selfie with it*, jumping in the bounce house, and receiving a medal as a VIP which she promptly shared with her new goat friend.

Caroline's highlights were dancing and then being super sleepy in her stroller and missing the rest of the fun.

*The llama may be an alpaca.  Not sure.

Prom 2016: Old Town Alexandria Senior Photographer

One high school student graduating and one getting ready for senior year.  I couldn't be a bigger fan of these two.

We headed to Old Town, Alexandria pre-prom and met at the Carlyle House.  The formal gardens, gazebo and bricks always make me happy - I use them to create some of my favorite images.  When Jess and I first started talking about a prom session, the shot above was the shot I envisioned and I just had to cross my fingers that the balcony at Carlyle House would be open!

After weeks of rain and at times a questionable forecast, the weather was beautiful (if not a little toasty) and I'm so glad I got to capture this fun high school milestone!

My schedule is filling up so call me or

ASAP to get on the 2016 calendar!

Flashback: Wreaths Across America

In December, Wreaths Across America provides wreaths for the veterans buried at our national cemeteries.  Team Bear asked me to photograph their group laying the wreaths at Arlington National Cemetery.

The section they were in happened to be adjacent to the section where my friend's father is buried, so I also headed over there to make sure he had a wreath on his marker.
