Mini-Session: Mom and Daughter Family Photos, Alexandria, VA

It's no secret that I have a great intern.  What you may not know is that her mom is pretty fantastic, too.  Jessica and her mom didn't have many high quality photos together, and we set out to fix that.

On Sunday,  Jessica and I had plans to go to Dumbarton Oaks in Georgetown.  There's no professional photography allowed there, but we spent a day having fun with our cameras.  If you follow my personal blog, you can see some of the pictures. But before we left, I snapped a few mom and daughter pictures of this beautiful duo.  No doubt they are related!

Although I'm booked through the end of 2015, I just opened my 2016 calendar!

Christmas Card Session: Old Town Alexandria Family Photographer

I adore baby H.  I was so excited to have her in front of my camera again, this time with her parents.

The weather was cold and windy but H was a trooper!  Her only requirement was that mom hold her during the entire session.

Merry Christmas card season!  Get ready for lots of family shots over the coming weeks as everyone prepares to celebrate the holiday season!

Family Christmas: Arlington, VA Family Photographer

I am lucky.  I've lived in the same area long enough to watch high school students grow into lovely adults with their own families.

This sweet baby girl and her family were a joy to photograph.  Baby E was a trooper despite the chilly weather and she was so expressive!

Mom had hoped for some trees in the background and a week ago, I was getting nervous as leaves fell.  I was thrilled to discover that a few places in Arlington still have perfect fall colors.

The coordinating red and grey was perfect without being overly matchy-matchy.

In a super smart move, Grandma and Grandpa came along to help with baby warming, and Grandpa was the king of making her smile.

The rest of the session is posted here.  As always, you can stay up to date on Facebook.

Interested in photos?  I have one spot left for family or child photos on December 12, and can book one late afternoon/evening slot for a special session (maternity or high school senior.)

Family photos make great gifts, so if you missed getting on the calendar for 2015, you can always book for 2016 and give a gift card.  It's a great gift for your high school senior!

Happy Birthday: Arlington, VA First Birthday Session.

Baby H turned one just before her first birthday session.  She was an absolute doll and full of energy, ready to explore everything.  Despite the chilly morning, she was a trooper.  After some portraits, she was hilarious with her cupcake.  She repeatedly dipped the (unlit) candle into the frosting, she decorated her cupcake with some leaves, and she was as dainty and delicate as can be, despite wearing quite a bit of frosting.

Scheduling update: I have sessions available November 29, December 6, and December 12 and I just opened my calendar for 2016!  For more, check out my Facebook.

Fall Sisters: Old Town Alexandria Family Photographer

These sisters and their parents were a joy to photograph for my first session post-Caroline!  The day was crisp (and cold to start!) and Old Town Alexandria provided an array of backdrops as always.  Mom did a great job of picking outfits and accessories.
