I Heart Faces: Hard at Work.

"Play is really the work of childhood."  - Fred Rogers

It's back to work and school around here, except that I'm taking a year off to give birth to Caroline and stay home with her.  I'll miss being in the classroom for both work and playtime with my students, but this is an important year to stay home!  The girls pictured here are giving me a glimpse of why - sisters playing in the sprinklers after their family photos.  That's the most important work they can do.

Two weeks from today Ellie gets her baby sister.

I'll still be running Megan Landmeier Photography outside of my regular work contract hours.

This photo is linked up over at I Heart Faces and you'll be seeing more of these girls in the next few days!  In the meantime, check out the "Hard at Work" shots at IHF!

A Professional Photo Update.

We live in a digital world, and digital networking is key.  (Hey, that's how you ended up on this blog, isn't it?)  When you do your networking via laptop and phone as well as via meetings, having an up-to-date and professional looking photo is key.

You'll see more of Patrick's family in the upcoming months, but for now, you get to see him looking professional.  I love these "Professional Portrait Sessions" because they're such an easy way to give your networking sites a boost.

Enjoy Labor Day weekend, everyone!

Alexandria, VA: Family Fun.

There are people whose personalities simply shine in photographs, and this family was a prime example.  We headed to Old Town where the girls were amazingly cooperative on a hot day.

Mom had their outfits coordinated and the girls both had beautifully done nails.  I love when my clients are little models.

Here's a small sampling of our session.  The full session is available here.

As always, you can follow along on Facebook or Instagram for sneak peeks.  I'm starting to book for late October and early November, so email me if you're interested in getting on my Fall schedule!

Heart Day.

Those who have followed my personal blog as well as this photography site are probably aware that my four year old had open heart surgery as an infant.  Her heart condition is common among children with Down syndrome, and Ellie is proud of her scar.  She calls it her "zipper."

You can see it in these photos:

To celebrate her zipper (and the August 25 anniversary of her heart surgery), Ellie got this "Zipper Club Member" baseball-style shirt from Tink&Key.  And since they are offering 25% off t-shirts with the code SUMMERBLOG15, I thought I'd share here as well.

This photo is by Jessica Mellon, super talented high school student helping me out this summer!

Enjoy the discount!
