Old Town: Family of Four

It’s no secret that I have a soft spot for kids with Down syndrome. This darling and her brother kept me busy and laughing on a perfect spring morning in Old Town, Alexandria. It was the kind of day that makes everyone flock outside in DC, but thanks to cherry blossom season, Old Town was relatively calm! Big sister was ALL ABOUT the camera, and her smile only faded when I suggested I photograph her brother alone! Both kids were adorable, both parents were absolutely lovely to work with, and the outfits were on point. I’m a West Coast native who isn’t normally drawn to monograms, but these were perfect and scream “SPRING!”

We ended our session letting the kids play with the new Mirror Mirror exhibit at the waterfront. Mirrors! Colors! We had to drag them away!

Baby Boy #3: An In-Home Newborn Session

Three boys? One with a disability? A house under construction?

This mama handles it all with so much grace and love! Baby boy #3 joins his two big brothers and surely will be causing a ruckus with them soon. Our session was full of laughs.

When we set this up, the mom reminded me that there’s a giant hole in their yard, and that would limit locations at their home. No big deal. Their front room has beautiful light, and we simply hung out there and captured these moments!

Before Surgery: A Valentine Session

This sweet girl is set to have surgery (and have a whole new smile) soon, so her parents wanted to capture her in this stage. I know from experience that those photos before surgery are so important, as our daughter Ellie has some fairly significant scars missing from her baby photos!

We met in-home on this chilly day and laughed a lot at sibling antics, cheerful babies, and children who just love fluffy heart pillows.
